CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Supports congregational members who have spiritual, and physical needs. Examples are: visitation to hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins; home communions; transportation; distributing church flowers; coffee hour preparation; coordinating special social events - congregational dinners, etc.
FAMILY MINISTRIES (Christian Education)
Directs Christian Education activities for all ages via small groups on Sundays and during the week. Examples are: Sunday classes; Bible studies; Youth - mission trips, retreats, fun activities.
FINANCE
Responsible for budget preparation, approval, accountability; expenditures for major items; counting and banking funds; pledging activities.
NOMINATING
Select and recommend church officers (Elders) for election by the congregation.
OUTREACH
Provides direction and support for missions outside our church. Examples are: Homeless Coalition; Habitat for Humanity, ECHO; Holiday Baskets; Guatemalan Church; Desire Street Ministries; Quilters; Angel Tree.
PERSONNEL
Oversees all personnel related matters such as job descriptions, recruiting, hiring, appraisals, salaries/wages, terminations.
PROPERTY
Responsible for church facilities including buildings, furnishings, grounds. This requires direction of minor projects, maintenance and appropriate staffing and contracting.
MEMBERSHIP AND EVANGELISM
Initiates and directs programs involving reaching out, inviting and welcoming visitors and prospective new members. This includes encouragement to participate in ministries of their choice (see Ministries section) with their time talent and treasure.
STEWARDSHIP
Directs financial stewardship activities, including education about church needs, and various means of church giving, annual pledging program, distribution of pledge envelopes.
WORSHIP
Working with the Pastor, oversees all needs for various worship services. Examples are: worship bulletins content; music; communion; funerals; memorial services; special worship events such as Friday Night Live. |
